Site Drainage Survey and Plan

The Environmental Agency recommends that all industrial sites using potentially polluting liquids should have an accurate and up to date drainage plan. This should identify both surface and foul water systems.

The Surveyors
Qualified Water Engineers with extensive experience working for the water companies, water authorities and commercial clients.

The Aims
Survey and produce wall mounted graphic of the drainage system of the site in relationship to the plant layout identifying storm water and foul water drainage.
Storage locations of hazardous liquids and locations of Spillcontrol Stations would be added to the graphic on deployment.

Methods
 Initially drains would be inspected by lifting manholes and using dye tracing, flowmeter, pH and ammonia meters to establish operation of the system.
 If the drainage system is in such a state as to require CCTV to detect lost or blocked drains then this would be employed.
 If the CCTV survey requires jetting or pipe emptying (a Vactor) to allow the cameras to operate would be introduced
